Product Designer (UX/UI) - Design Systems & Accessibility

We are currently hiring a Product Designer (UX/UI) – Design Systems & Accessibility for a project in the financial services sector, focused on evolving digital products with strong impact at scale. This is a hands-on role for someone comfortable navigating structured environments while still advocating for user needs and design quality.

What you will do

  • Contribute to the evolution of digital products across the full design lifecycle — from discovery to delivery.

  • Work with existing design systems, ensuring consistency while identifying opportunities for improvement and scalability.

  • Apply accessibility best practices (WCAG) in interface design and interaction decisions.

  • Collaborate in research activities (e.g., usability testing, interviews), and translate insights into actionable design outputs.

  • Create user flows, wireframes and high-fidelity interfaces with strong attention to usability and clarity.

  • Partner closely with product managers, developers and other stakeholders in a structured delivery environment.

  • Clearly communicate design rationale and decisions, balancing business, technical and user perspectives.

What we look for

  • Proven experience as a Product Designer / UX/UI Designer, with a portfolio that shows structured thinking and problem-solving.

  • Solid experience working with design systems in real product environments.

  • Good understanding of accessibility principles and their practical application.

  • Exposure to user research and ability to incorporate insights into design decisions.

  • Strong foundation in interaction design, UX principles and user-centred methodologies.

  • Proficiency with Figma and modern design workflows.

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

  • Fluent Portuguese and English.

  • Mandatory availability to work on-site in Lisbon 3 days per week.

Nice to have

  • Experience in financial services, fintech or other regulated industries.

  • Background in consulting or working with external clients.

  • Experience contributing to or scaling design systems..
